The Foundation Human Rights in the Picture was officially established on 15 May 2013 by Jan de Koning and Nadja Houben in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Its founding board members are Cees Flinterman, David Vriesendorp and Jan de Koning.
At Human Rights in the Picture we visualise human rights stories for a better world. It is our mission to promote respect for human rights through film, art, new media and education aiming to reach a divers and broad audience.
Working from The Hague and Brussels the small team is strengthened by a hub of filmmakers, visual artists, photographers, translators, editors, educators, human rights defenders, lawyers, NGOs, diplomats and students. They share their talents with us and together we use art to make this world a better place.
